Conservation and research

Sociéte de Conservation et Développement (SCD), sister company of Africa’s Eden, was initiated in 2001 with the aim to perform research, park management and educational activities in national parks in West Central Africa.

Sociéte de Conservation et Développement (SCD)

SCD has teamed up with the most professional national and international conservation organisations. In Gabon, the following organisations have collaborated together to ensure long-term conservation activities in the park:

  • La Société pour Conservation et Développement (SCD)
  • The Max Planck Institute (MPI)
  • The Fernan-Vaz Gorilla Project (FVGP)
  • The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS)
  • Ministère des Eaux et Forêts
  • The Gabonese National Parks Agency (ANPN)

In São Tomé & Príncipe and in the Dzanga-Sangha Reserve in the Central African Republic, SCD is discussing the plans for conservation, research and education.
